Proença, AJudas, FCanha, N2012-01-022012-01-021986Rev Ortop Traumatol. 1986; 12 (2): 171-87http://hdl.handle.net/10400.4/1219The authors describe the Bone Bank´s organization of the Orthopaedic Clinic of Coimbra´s University Hospital. The donors are critically selected in such as way that they do not transmit diseases to the recipient. The tissue procurements are executed under rigorous sterile conditions, making the quality control of the grafts through the cultures for bacteria and fungi, including blood and individual tissue specimens. The tissue preservation and storage are deep-freezing in freezer set at -80º C or in liquid nitrogen freezers, using crioprotectors. A complete immunological study is made, similar to the organs transplantation. It exits a minucious register and archive of all the elements related to the donors, the graft´s type and the recipient, in such a way that it is possible to make a selection of the most appropriate graft, for each clinical case.porBancos de OssosOrganização de um banco de ossosOrganization of a bone bankjournal article
